I am 53 years old. In mid-March this year (2015), I was diagnosed with psoriasis guttate. The most affected area was from the waist down, but some lesions appeared also on the hands, arms, face and trunk. The first few weeks were the hardest, when I was looking for information and support. The doctor gave me the diagnosis and merely prescribed a cortisone gel to be used only on larger lesions, saying that in reality in cases like mine, given the extent of the affected areas, the most effective therapy would be phototherapy, but that I would have to wait at least 8-10 months to access such treatment. In fact I used the gel for 10 days or so then I stopped using it. During the time I was seeking information I have fortunately “stumbled” upon the site of Ederma. Simple, transparent. I emailed a request for information, received a lot of info, followed by various phone calls and, finally, on May 11, I bought a single panel phototherapy unit for home use. After 30 days of treatment, the smaller lesions on the hands, arms, face and trunk were gone; after 60 days, the lesions on the upper part of the legs were gone as well, after 80-90 days also deeper ones, on the lower part of the legs, have disappeared. My skin is smooth, my spirit is high! Soon I will go on vacation and will not be ashamed of my legs anyomre! I forgot to mention: I first rented the device for two months and then, also due to the opinion of a dermatologist who in the meantime has “taken over”, I bought it. I placed it behind the door of my room, to have it ready to use. Priceless – the convenience of easy access to therapy at home. Maybe it has nothing to do, it’s just a coincidence, but in addition to having obtained an undeniable benefit in my fight against psoriasis, I noticed an improvement in terms of general well-being. I will never cease to thank Alberto Garro, the nice person that I had the pleasure and honor of meeting personally, a source of valuable information, which I support and recommend wholeheartedly.
Hello everyone! I’m Sofia, 24, I have vitiligo and psoriasis !!! With phototherapy, I found the solution to both things: psoriasis is gone, and vitiligo has made great strides – when I started I had it on the whole body, it’s healing and now I have some completely repigmentated areas !!!! After so many years I’ve stopped making war with myself and I learned to love myself as I am and I do not know if this helps but I think that also the state of mind with which we deal with things has its importance !!! 15 days ago I wore my first short dress after more than 10 years and can’t tell you the feeling of freedom that I have felt !!! My mom told me that day, Sofia you cannot hide your spots, they are on the face, on the hands, feet, legs, elbows, if you wear that dress in short time you’ll see the vitiligo even if you cover it up !!! So I thought, but who am I, doing this to get dressed with really long stuff, if you see it anyway !!!! So I decided to live my vitiligo to the fullest !!!! And thank you Alberto and the Center! I recommend phototherapy – it’s a fantastic therapy and as you can tell I’m really excited about it!
The areas affected by the disease are mainly the face and a thigh. The first therapies that I have been prescribed were based on supplements, photosensitive topical and oral drugs as well as both topical and oral corticosteroids.
The results of these therapies have been almost non-existent, if not even counterproductive, because of the side effects of the drugs.
Later I learned, thanks to the advice of the umpteenth dermatologist, of the possibility to undergo UVB narrow band phototherapy at the Ederma center in Cuneo, where I finally met competent and helpful staff.
Already since the first cycles, I have begun to see small but steady changes and a downsizing of the spots, especially on the face. With the steadiness of the three weekly sessions at the center, I had a partial closure and repigmentation of spots and a stabilization of the latter.
Then I bought one piece of equipment for home care to make sure I maintain the results achieved. I periodically go to the Ederma center for a total body treatment to tackle the risk of appearance of spots on areas of the body that I cannot treat with the lamp for partial exposures that I have purchased.
I can say that at the Ederma center I have found the most effective cure for “my” vitiligo but also professionalism, availability and humanity, priceless qualities that definitely helped me to fight this problem in the best way.
This disease, although not absolutely important and debilitating as other treated in your centers, has always prevented or made it much more problematic for me to do nice things like walking in the mountains without having to take many precautions or, even more often, spending days at the beach with friends .
The areas affected by erythema are, for me, mainly the chest and back, but during a holiday in Tunisia I happend to sunbathe several times during the day using a high protection sunscreen, the scalp being affected as well (perhaps because I sport a short haircut).
Over the years I have tried many approaches to solve this problem by taking supplements, homeopathic medicine and tablets which I do not remember what they contained, but they would have to prepare me for sun exposure without the slightest result.
I spent my days at the beach covered in very high protection creams, difficult to apply and even more difficult to wash off. Finally, tired of this practice but having to follow it, I came to give up trips to the sea completely.
On the internet I discovered Ederma, I started treatment at their center and in about two months or so I have solved my problem, so I can now go on vacation in Sardinia and enjoy the beach in a totally normal way: with a bit of sunscreen protection, in a normal dosage and of normal consistency, applied during the hottest hours of the day.
Nowadays, for convenience and practicality, every spring I rent (from May to June or before the holidays) a single panel phototherapy unit for home use, I undergo treatment according to the protocol assigned to me and at last I enjoy the days at the beach with friends.
I have been suffering from psoriasis on my legs for about 5 years and this year is the first time that I can wear a skirt without being ashamed – that kind of embarrassment that only those suffering from this condition can understand.
All this has been possible thanks to phototherapy, the competence and professionalism of the staff at Ederma.
I have been using phototherapy for 5-6 years. I have also been suffering from psoriatic arthritis since I was a young girl.
To combat the spreading of psoriasis I find it very effective; with a constant use of the lamp I get better results than those obtained with methotrexate.
I started to notice the appearance of vitiligo in May 2007. Initially the spots were located behind the right ear and were not particularly visible. Unfortunately, at he beginning of summer, the spots have slightly increased in intensity and, above all, I could notice their slight appearance on the right cheek.
I turned to a dermatologist who confirmed that it is indeed vitiligo and advised me to try food supplements (Pabavit) and apply dermatological creams.
I have not seen any improvement of the situation.
Subsequently, in January 2008, my work has led me to move to Turin and from there I went to another dermatologist that continued to prescribe supplements and creams warning me, however, that the vitiligo, being of unknown cause, could hardly disappear.
I actually did not pay too much attention to the spots on the face because they were not particularly visible and because I like to wear a slightly longer beard, so the presence of vitiligo was not particularly noticeable.
Slowly, however, the extension of the spots has increased, without being excessively visible.
At that point and in order to also avoid any future aggravations, I turned in May 2012 to another dermatologist, who advised me to use phototherapy, as it is the most effective remedy in the fight against vitiligo at this time.
Thanks to the internet, I happened to learn about the Ederma center and because in the meantime I had moved to Cuneo, I immediately booked an appointment with Mr. Alberto Garro.
Together with him, I agreed on a set course of action to take and I started to undergo phototherapy sessions since June 2012 for three times per week.
After only one month, things had greatly improved, because the patches were less visible and less extensive. Mid-August, I went to the sea and upon my return, as predicted by Alberto, the situation turned out to be even more positive: the face had taken on a beautiful complexion and the spots had almost vanished.
I completed the first cycle of therapy and booked another cycle with three sessions a week and then, after one month, I switched to two sessions per week. Today I visit the Ederma center in Cuneo once a week.
I was able to appreciate the competence, professionalism and kindness of Mr. Garro and of Martina; I particularly enjoyed being able to have sessions in other Ederma centers as well, hasslefree and with a maximum of flexibility and willingness on the part of all staff.
This allowed me to have a consistency and continuity that has been determinant for the positive outcome of my problem.
THANK YOU !!!
I am very happy with the treatment, my face is fine and I have a beautiful color; I know to be patient until results will show on my hands, but I am a very consistent person and I will continue the treatment every other day, as I have done to date. I can not speak highly enough of you and your company. […]
Thank you so much, the smile has returned to my face!
Hello, my name is P. and I am 35; I have been suffering from psoriasis for about 6 years. I am happy to have met Mr. Alberto Garro and the phototherapy. After years of creams and pills to no avail I can finally say that I found THE solution. After 3 months of treatment, the lesions on the hands and elbows have almost disappeared and even those on the legs and back are definitely improving. What can I say… I am very satisfied with the treatment that I am comfortably doing at home, in complete safety, thanks to the advice of Mr Alberto.
